We cannot agree with the negative reviews. Our evening at Assaggini was a complete success. The dishes are not too expensive, you get more variety in one evening and they are also delicious. A clear recommendation from us. Unfortunately, not every beer was available, but that's not a problem.

We dined al fresco and looked on to the hustle and bustle of Byres Road on Sunday afternoon. If you know that you are expecting small portion sizes as it is a “tapas” style menu, then you won’t be caught off guard. The food was really good, especially the pastas. They have a great variety on there. I do think it is pricey for what you get, but you are slap bang in the middle of Byres Road. Impressed with the food quality! Just not absolutely stuffed as I probably would be elsewhere. I think it would be great for a light bite and some drinks.

This place is amazing. I’m getting fed up with the negative reviews, so I’ve decided to speak up. First off, Assaggini literally means “small tastings” in Italian. So for everyone complaining about the size of their mains, these are Italian tapas. Do you complain about the size of your main when you go for Spanish tapas? No! Because it’s tapas. Second, this place is very accommodating of allergies, dietary restrictions and vegan. I know because I’ve been all three since they opened. They carry the best vegan cheese - Julienne Bruno - not that Violife that everyone else uses. And they can adjust so many of their dishes. They are also super helpful at explaining and guiding. Finally, the food quality and taste is amazing. As someone from NYC who has spent extensive time in Italy, I can assure you this place is the real deal. Please try it for yourself. We’re going back tonight.

We were delighted to receive a nice glass of fizz on arrival to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you. Our servers were very attentive, polite and friendly. The food was well presented and full of flavour. Loved the thinly sliced pineapple on the Glesga pizza - nice touch. The cheesecake was to die for! We will definitely return and have already recommended you to several of our friends.

not sure why there are so many negative reviews. My family loved this place. Maybe people are confused by the small plates, but I think thats great. More opportunities to try different things.

We stopped by here with our two children who were ‘starving’. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed some delicious food. Between the four of us we had 5 plates of food which was ample. The restaurant was busy, but not loud, and it has a lovely atmosphere .A special shout to Andy, the Ops Manager, who provided fantastic service. We’ll be back.
